  10.        This release note describes patch SG0000253 to IRIX 5.3.

  14.        This patch contains bug fixes for Indy systems.  The
  15.        software cannot be installed on other configurations.

  19.        This patch contains bug fixes for IRIX 5.3.  The software

  24.        This patch contains fixes for the following bugs in IRIX

  28.           +o On an Indy system, running IRIX 5.3, if the power or
  29.             volume control buttons are pressed after system
  30.             startup, but before any audio applications (including
  31.             the desktop soundscheme facility) are used, the system
  32.             may panic or hang uninterruptably.  (This is bug number
  33.             254936.)

  45.        you have encountered, patch software is not installed by
  46.        default. After reading the descriptions of the bugs fixed in
  47.        this patch, determine the patches that meet your specific

  50.        Patch software is installed like any other Silicon Graphics
  51.        software product.  Follow the instructions in your _I_R_I_S
  52.        _S_o_f_t_w_a_r_e _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n _G_u_i_d_e to bring up the miniroot form of
  53.        the software installation tools.

  55.        Follow these steps to select a patch for installation:

  78.          2.  Select the desired patches for installation.

  85.              incompatible.  If this occurs, you must deselect one

  98.        To remove a patch, use the _v_e_r_s_i_o_n_s _r_e_m_o_v_e command as you
  99.        would for any other software subsystem.  The removal process
  100.        reinstates the original version of software unless you have
  101.        specifically removed the patch history from your system.
